At Merrylands Family Practice, we've made it easy to manage your results and ongoing healthcare.
SMS Result Notifications
At Merrylands Family Practice, we'll let you know your test results securely via SMS. This helps us get the information to you quickly and privately. Our reception team doesn't have access to send or give out results over the phone, so there's no need to call us for them.
You can expect to receive an SMS update within about five business days. Keep in mind that some tests may take a little longer to process. If you've had a few tests done, we'll send you an SMS once all the results are in and your doctor has reviewed them. Feel free to chat with your GP about this during your appointment.

How We Handle Your Results
Here's what happens with your tests:
Your doctor will carefully review your results.
They'll then decide if everything is okay, if a follow-up is needed (either soon or not urgently), or if something requires urgent attention.
Once your doctor has looked at all your results, we'll send you a secure SMS to let you know if you need to book a follow-up appointment.
If you haven't received a follow-up request from your doctor via SMS, but you're still feeling unwell or have any questions, please feel free to book another appointment online with your doctor for a review.
Can I call or email reception to obtain a copy of my test results?
No. We understand you'd like your results. We've made some recent improvements to our system, which means our reception team can no longer access or provide them directly to you.
Recalls
We believe in keeping you healthy. From time to time, you might receive a friendly SMS reminder from us about things like repeat tests, immunisations, and routine health check-ups.

MyMedicare
